How do you buy and sell stocks?
I want to start buying and selling stocks. I think i am going to open up a etrade account. When you go to buy stocks do you just click buy stock and select how much? Also when you sell do you just click sell and it sells for the current price or does it take a while to sell them?
I have already done a little research and mainly looking for buying stocks for the long run not lots of buying and selling like every few days.

Hold on! Investing in stocks is risky. Opening an online brokerage account is not the first step. The first step is reading.Read up (several books) on the subjects of trading and technical analysis.
Next question; How much time are you willing to invest in being a successful investor? This discipline is extreemly time comsuming. Without investing in reading and research, I promise you will do nothing but loose money.
If you fail it means you tried(and learn).But if you dont try and it would of been profitable, you will regret and i speak from own experience.
Buying for long run does not mean not risky.My opinion is invest a few hundreds and learn to love the game then you will become good at it (or loose everything).
To actually answer your question, now days it is pretty much click-and-get unless u got some shity dial-up.
