I notice Google Finance, Etrade and Reuters all use the same Sector and Industry classifications (Yahoo uses a different one). None of them use SIC codes or NAICS codes. I would like to download to Excel a list of all companies/stocks/tickers, along with their Sector and Industry codes, as used by Google/Etrade/Reuters.

Let’s say if I have an Etrade Security and Etrade bank accounts. Then, the compony files for chapter 11 or 7. What happens to my stocks and cash in those accounts? How hard would it be to transfer those assets to other firm?
